2022 Winter Capsule Wardrobe | Essential Pieces to Include

It's official everyone.

Winter is here.

And, no mater what your thoughts are on this dawning season, it's time to add a couple more layers to our wardrobe (for those of us in the northern hemisphere, at least).

When I talk about creating your capsule wardrobe, I try to make it very clear that each capsule wardrobe is completely unique to the creator and there aren't any specific pieces that must be included in order for it to be a successful capsule.

But that doesn't mean I don't have recommendations that I label as essential :).

This time of year, it's all about staying warm, shielding ourselves from the elements, and upping the coziness level of our clothing - all while still feeling amazing in what we wear.

With that being said, here are five pieces I highly recommend you include in your winter capsule wardrobe this year.

1. Practical, yet cute* pair of boots

*insert your preferred adjective such as funky, edgy, glam, etc.

The ideal pair of boots will be easily incorporated to your other daily looks while still protecting your feet from unpredictable winter elements.

2. Go-To Sweatshirt or Sweater

A cozy top that goes with everything and you look forward to putting on is essential for every winter capsule wardrobe. If you are able to style it up or down for different occasions, even better!

3. Open-Cardigan

Personally, I'm loving anything long and thick. A huge advantage of owning this piece in your winter capsule is that you can still rock your favorite tees and tanks throughout the colder months by just throwing this piece overtop!

4. Fleece-Lined Leggings

There's not much more that needs to be said - except bonus points if they are faux leather.

5. Blanket Scarf or Pashmina

You will not regret this purchase. It’s very practical, stylish and not many other accessories do a better job of keeping you warm in the frosty air!
