Fall 2019: Five Major Fashion Trends

Aug 28, 2019

I don’t want to write this post.

By writing this post, I am freely admitting that summer is over and that it’s time to embrace fall.

And you know what? I’m not ready to do that.

Contrary to the rest of the “basic-white-girls” (I swear I’m the only one who feels this way), I am NOT obsessed with fall.

That’s right. I said it.

I actually hate wearing flannel. And knee-high boots aren’t that great either.

I think pumpkin spice lattes are disgusting (no offense, Starbucks, I still love you. Also, admittedly this is a rather new opinion. I used to love them).

Oh, and football? Yeah I’m not going to suddenly pretend I’m entertained by something that bores me to tears just because everyone else is suddenly obsessed.

So, sorry not sorry, fall fanatics. I know I offended you. And I’m already anticipating a drop in subscribers.

However, no matter how much I preach “Long Live Summer”, it doesn’t change the fact that fall is just around the corner.

And while the rest of the world rejoices while scampering through a pumpkin patch instagraming the falling leaves in their over-sized sweaters, I’ll sit by and slowly accept the changing of seasons.

I do love apple cider though, so that’s a plus.

Anyways.

The reason for this post is to not complain about my annoyance with everyone’s overly obsessiveness when it comes to fall, but to share with you five amazing fall-fashion trends for 2019 that have been gracing the runway and are ready to make their debut in our wardrobes.

1. Moody Florals

Basically cheery-floral prints that you wore in the summer, masked in a darker tone.

I think to think of this as fashion’s way of mourning the end of summer.

In all seriousness, though, I love this trend and can’t wait to pair a dress like this with my leather jacket!

2. Leather on Leather

I don’t think I need to go into detail as to what this trend is and why I’m obsessed with it.

In addition to the (faux) leather jacket that I trust all of you own (if you don’t you should) add in some (faux) leather leggings.

Now you really have an edgy, trendy look.

3. Jewel Tones

I do love black when it comes to my clothes – a large majority of my closet currently expresses this preference.

However, when it comes to fall I love to add a bold emerald or rich ruby piece to my looks.

Lucky for me, that is trending this fall.

4. Oversized Knits

Let’s be honest. Will this ever go out of style?

I think one of the reasons that this look is such a hit is because it is so versatile!

You can wear it with a pair of skinny jeans and booties for a casual look, or edge it out with your new leather leggings and jewel-toned heels.

Also, the comfort. A major plus factor.

5. Liquid Metallics

Not just for your makeup and accessories anymore, friends!

This trend is bringing the major glam-factor to fall, and it’s amazing.

There are many more trends that are said to be making a big mark in the fashion world this fall, but these are my favorites.

As you shop for your next wardrobe season, it’s fun to keep the trends in mind, but don’t forget to always keep your style-sense in the forefront.

Fashion Week should never have the final say on your clothing purchases.
