Must Have Travel Essentials + My Travel Accessory Wishlist

Nov 03, 2021

Travel continues to be one of my greatest passions in life.

And, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, I will never take any aspect of travel for granted again.

I’ve done a bit of traveling in my past (and continue to make travel plans for the future), and thanks to these experiences I have built a list of must-haves when it comes to accessories that make travel easier.

But let’s be real - it’s nearly impossible (at least for me) to avoid developing a wish list for items that mesh with a significant area of your life.

With that being said, I wanted to share with you a list of items I currently own that have made travel much easier and more enjoyable - as well as a list of my wishes for future travel. Enjoy!

MY TRAVEL MUST HAVES:

Packing Cubes

I’ve talked about these a lot. They are super helpful when trying to pack a more compact and organized suitcase. They come in all types of sizes, colors and materials so you have plenty of options to choose what suites you best.

Blanket Scarf

Another essential in my eyes. Not only is it a wonderful accessory for cooler destinations, but it is also an amazing companion on a chilly airplane as it can literally double as a cozy blanket!

Water Bottle

Even if you aren’t a traveler, this is something I highly recommend for daily life. For travel, owning and taking your own water bottle will pay for itself just in avoided bottled water purchases at the airport.

Portable Charger

Even though USB ports are everywhere these days, I still don’t travel without my portable charger. When on the ground exploring, I use my phone as a life source for directions. Having this power bank handy in my bag has been a lifesaver when I get that dreaded “low battery” alert.

Space Bags

Have you ever tried to efficiently pack sweaters in a carry-on bag? It’s not easy. These bags make this daunting task so much simpler!

Jewelry and Cosmetics Organizer

Another travel hassle - packing more than one piece of jewelry. No matter how neat you put them in your bag, somehow upon arrival to your destination your jewelry has turned into an impossibly tangled mess. If you travel with jewelry, I recommend one of these handy accessories. The same goes for cosmetics!

BONUS:

A travel capsule wardrobe. I understand that this isn’t an “item” but it is something that I will never travel without. A travel capsule wardrobe is absolutely essential for effficient, minimal and stylish travel. Unsure how to create one? I’ve created this free guide to help you get started!

TRAVEL WISH LIST:

Evenflo Pivot Expand Modular Travel System Stroller

I’m a mom. By the time our next planned trip is here, I will have two kids and I need a stroller that I can rely on - especially on those charming European cobblestone streets. I also value style, compactness, ease, storage and napping ability. I’ve done a lot of research and this one seems to be the winner!

Diaper Bag

I had a diaper bag, but I got rid of it because I found another one I wanted more. This one is so sleek and stylish - and the storage capability is amazing! I think what I love most about this bag is that I can use it as a personal bag for myself because it’s so chic.

Adidas Cloudfoam Advantage Sneaker

I’m always in the market for a stylish, comfortable pair of sneakers that will pair well with all types of travel looks - and I think this pair is it for me!

Anti-theft Crossbody

When I think of anti-theft accessories I think of tacky passport holders or wearable pockets that attactch to your undergarments. This one is obviously not that - it’s stylish, functional and stops those pick-pockets.

Cadence Capsule Travel Essentials

You could go the traditional mini-plastic bottle route and then fill them with your needed cosmetic products - or you could invest in these adorable little things. I’m so intrigued.

Mini Resistance Bands

These have been on my list for awhile. When I’m a motivated traveler, I do my best to maintain my workout routine. These are perfect for an efficient workout without taking up much space at all.

Dual Voltage Styler

It never fails. Every time I use a straightener or curling iron abroad I always fry it - even when I use my special adaptor. I found this styler that apparently works like a dream in many countries. A purchase like this would help me avoid the daily “low-bun” that is my go-to all the time.
